Our History

The Direct Auto Insurance brand has its origins in Direct Insurance Company, which was founded in 1991 to become a premier, non-standard insurance company that would provide its customers with outstanding, affordable coverage, regardless of their driving history. Since those early days, Direct Auto has expanded nationwide, but the original mission has remained the same. We believe each and every customer is important, and we’re still working hard to offer them low rates, great services, and flexible payment plans, no matter their circumstances.
